In our interpretation, the designer’s job spans the lot. If an implementation fails, the failure begins with an error of design; the design was not attending to the mobilization of the new practice. If it turns out that there is something in the community that was not visible to the designer that ends up damaging the effectiveness of the design, the error began with an error of design; the design was not paying sufficient attention to the diagnostic part of the work, and perhaps other parts. If a design results in something that, when managed, doesn’t produce new capital for the investors, it is a failure of design; the design paid insufficient attention to the way that capital was going to be accumulated with the new practice.
